Adv. Jaya Nair is founder-President of "Sahil Mahila Samiti"(SMS) NGO., which is registered at Mumbai. Sahil Mahila samiti is working in the social-field for the past 24 years, especially for down-trodden women, victims of Rape, victims of Domestic-Violence by Husband's, in-laws, sexual-harassment at Work-places so on and so-forth!!! We help such oppressed women to get into touch with the concerned Police-station/s or the highest police-officials and Lodge police complaints/FIR. against these culprits/ offenders, Thus, the main Aims & Objectives of Sahil Mahila Samiti is to reach such victims/ oppressed women to their "ultimate destination" i.e. Justice.

Adv. Jaya Nair has also participated in Seminars on Indian Security; India’s changing Security Environment and also presented the paper on "A General Analysis of Indian Defence Budget during 1963-72". She has been an active member of NSS. during the college days; Acquired all kinds of military trainings from "Bhonsala Military College", during the academic year 1989 to 1992.

She was elected as the General Secretary of Thane Law College in the year April 2000. She was active in many activities of the college under the Mumbai University and was also awarded the Best Student of the Millennium Year 1999-2000. Actively participating in many Social Causes and conveying it through articles, in News Papers etc.; also extending all kinds of legal advices, Counselling etc to the poor and needy. She has been instrumental in moving PIL's. (Public Interest Litigations) in Mumbai High Court, regarding some very sensitive issues of Mumbai. She is the founder president of "Sahil Mahila Samiti". MLGA. and SMS., both are NGO'S working for the social cause, especially for destitute women and children's, and providing free legal Counselling to them.

Adv. Jaya Nair was the lawyer for the panel of “State Human Rights Commission" and "Maharashtra Pollution Control Board”. She was the Public Relation officer and Media Coordinator for "Maharashtra Election watch"- Thane. She had been newly elected as the sole member from state of MS, in the N.A.C. (National Action Council) - "Amnesty International”. She is actively involved in number of "Human rights" seminars, workshops etc., relating to women's issues, in association with "Times Foundation"-T.O.I. TISS-Tata Institute of Social Science, Sophia College etc., actively involved in many moholla committees formed by the police officials in Thane and Mumbai.
